The Motivation
Being human is hard. Life gets messy, complicated, and overwhelming—and painful or traumatic experiences can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, the people we love, and the world around us.
As a therapist, what motivates me most is helping people find their way back to connection. Real relationships, a sense of belonging, and work that feels meaningful—those are the things that help us feel grounded and genuinely joyful.
Therapy gives you a space to slow down, process what you’ve been carrying, and start rebuilding those foundational pieces of your life. It’s a way to reconnect with who you are and what you need to feel supported, steady, and alive again.
The Details
When you come to therapy, you’re investing your most valuable, non-renewable resource: your time. I hold that with real care. I use evidence-based, effective therapeutic approaches to help you gently explore the painful experiences, patterns, and stuck places that may be keeping you in a state of overwhelm or distress.
And while I deeply believe in the power of therapy, I also know beginning this process can feel vulnerable or uncomfortable. My hope is that each session feels like a welcoming place to land—a warm, steady environment where you feel supported, understood, and empowered as we navigate your healing together.
I earned my Master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Counselor Education from the University of Iowa. My years working in both K–12 and higher education shape the way I show up with clients: with curiosity, respect, and a genuine desire to know your story and walk alongside you as you make sense of it.
I’m a Midwesterner at heart, but Grand Junction has become home. Outside of work, you’ll find me exploring nature with my husband, daughter, and our dog; dancing awkwardly and enthusiastically with friends; or curled up with a fantasy novel and a cup of tea. Some of my favorite moments in life come from being in deep, meaningful conversation with another person—which is one of the many reasons I love this work so much.

My Specialties
Individuals Who Have Experienced Trauma
If you’ve gone through overwhelming, traumatic, or deeply distressing experiences, you may find yourself caught in patterns that feel confusing or difficult to shift. You might want to grow but feel unsure how to begin working through the pain or the symptoms that keep resurfacing. You’re not alone in that.
You don’t have to keep carrying this on your own. Healing is possible—and you deserve support that feels steady, compassionate, and truly responsive to your needs. I’m here to walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences and move toward a life that feels more grounded, hopeful, and aligned with who you want to be.
Pregnancy, Postpartum, and Parenthood
The emotional and physical shifts that come with pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period can feel tender, disorienting, and unexpectedly complex. You might find yourself grieving your old routines while trying to embrace your new identity, or feeling moments of joy mixed with anxiety, sadness, irritability, or a sense that you’re not quite yourself.
You’re not alone in these experiences. I see the tenderness of what you’re carrying and the courage it takes to move through this season. In our therapeutic relationship, my priority is to create a space where you feel grounded, supported, and genuinely understood. Together, we’ll honor your pace, make sense of what’s coming up, and work toward building a deeper sense of internal safety and connection—both within yourself and in your relationships—as you move through this meaningful season of change
Couples Struggling with Disconnection
I work with couples who want to feel more connected and create meaningful change in their relationship. Using an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) approach, we’ll explore the patterns that pull you into disconnection—whether it’s recurring fights that never seem to get resolved, parenting stress, big life transitions, changes in intimacy, or the hurt of betrayal. As humans, we’re wired for closeness, and our relationships shape so much of how we experience the world. In our sessions, we’ll slow things down, get curious about the emotions and needs underneath the surface, and practice ways of reconnecting that help you feel heard, seen, understood, and supported. Together, we’ll work toward a relationship that feels safer, more connected, and aligned with the life you want to share.
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is an evidence-based and powerful therapy to process traumatic or distressing life experiences and their impact on our lives. It has been proven effective for treating trauma, PTSD, addiction, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and more. EMDR is based on the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model that proposes overwhelming, traumatic, or distressing experiences can get "stuck" in our brains, leading to psychological and physical symptoms. EMDR follows an eight-phase therapeutic approach to identify and target these stuck memories and reprocess them so that the symptoms related to the experience dissipates. You don't have to continue to hurt. Relief is possible. EMDR will support your unique journey towards healing and wellness.
